Next month, Keep Walking will reach its conclusion, and also the end of the Summer Writing Project in which it is part of.  Personally, I am not very confident of it doing especially well, since it was a last minute thing that I decided to do, but I am proud of its result. It’s done better than most of the things I’ve written, and I managed to have quite a bit of fun with it.

However it turns out though, I will end up publishing Keep Walking, either as a standalone novella or bundled with The Number 139 next year. Or both. Whatever comes first.

So the big question is, what’s next? Well, I’m currently still preparing for the book release of 139 Years to the End of the World, but I’m guessing the main target is my continued writing.

Obviously, I would love to be able to write multiple serials in a go, and continue doing so for as long as I can. Given my current writing schedule, I can fit at least 3 in a week. But doing so means I have to give up some of the freelance and part-time work I’ve been doing. In a way, it’s harder to write story chapters than it is to do comics or other content creation, because of the length of stories you can fit in each chapter of a book is much more than any video or comic page. Don’t worry though, I do intend to keep at least 1 serial running at all time.

Currently, my monthly profit is in the negative, but not by a lot. About a hundred or so dollars off. But I’ve got a pretty strong saving so I’m not worried about running out of money any time soon. But I do have to get some cash flowing in the near future. I have 2 months left on my self imposed 1 year break and writing job attempt. I have to be realistic and come up with a new plan for living if writing doesn’t turn out.

BUT! Enough of this sadness and mopiness. That’s not what you’re here for! At least, I hope not. But if it is, you should read my mental health articles. They’re nice for that.

Anyway, here’s the current map for Tearha. I’ve been working on it on and off, and right now, only Eltar is (80%) completed. But it should give an idea of the scale of the series and the future I’m about to discuss for it. I’ll keep this updated as I go, and will probably offer it its own page in the future.

Currently, the whole story of Keep Walking and The Number 139 combined fits into just about 4% of that whole map. I’m hoping to cover the rest over the next 10 years.

I have a couple of stories lined up. If my Patreon can suddenly become successful, I will, of course, start releasing them immediately. Most of these stories features cast returning from current serials as sequels. But there are a few original standalones. I thought I’d share them here today.

Tearha: Born and Made will be a new story set in the Queendom of Lutvvin. As tension between the humans and beastmen grows, a disfigured, ugly and weak squire named Mordred will serve the brave, heroic, handsome, strong and talented hero, Arthur, to protect the people of Lutvvin from the monstrous horde.

This is the story I’m probably the most interested in writing. On the tagline of “Monsters/Heroes are born, heroes/monsters are made” I want to really blur out the whole good and evil thing. If there are still no Patreon supporters by the  end of The Number 139 to vote on the next serial, this is the story I’ll likely go with on default.

Tearha: Clover Academy is a story set within the Kingdom of Aleynonlia. Home to the only academy for Spellblades, the newest members of Class Clover must learn how to deal with an outbreak of ruptures between the fabric of dimensions that are pouring monsters onto the land. At the same time, the Tinderland Consolidates threatens to go to war.

I love anime and the ‘slice-of-life’ genre. Especially all the stories of schools that trained fighters and such. There’s a heavy focus of sacrifice in this story, and I really want to tear at the emotions of duty and friendships in war here. Possibly a duology.

Absolution is one of the more unlikely story I will write. It will be the first book in a new series, The Sevens Saga. But it is unlikely that I will write this any time soon for one simple reason. The last three books also serves as The Watcher’s origin story, and the entire series have characters that are very dear to my heart. When I start it, I will make sure it’s one of the best I’ve ever done.

A Long Way from Welcome Home is a story about a group of friends. A schizoid, a pair of incestuous siblings, a paedophile, an otaku, and an open minded normal guy. And this is the story of how the world sees them and their everyday, normal lives.

I found it interesting after I shared my world view in a conversation once. When asked if I would give leniency for paedophiles, I casually said yes, so long as their sexual attraction was never forced and they did their best to do good despite the difference in their brain chemistry. Depending on how life goes, I would like to write this as well. Perhaps as a second serial starting next year or after 139, if there’s a vote.

And that’s it!

These are my plans for new standalone books in the future! Do let me know what you think about the titles in the comments.
